Gwen's Dance Recital & Costume
Gwen's Creative Movement class (The really tall girl in costume is the teenage helper...if you were wondering...)
Gwen was so excited about her first dance recital on June 2nd at The Egg (a big performing arts center in Albany). She kept saying things like, "Tomorrow is the special day!" and "The ball is tomorrow!" I would assume she was just playing pretend, but she was really just preparing for her on stage dancing debut. She danced two dances that she had been practicing since the end of last year in her "Creative Movement" dance class. One was to a song called "Don't Ever Step on a Snake" and the other was a ribbon dance where she held a ribbon in each hand and danced around. She liked being on stage and said it was "cool." She said she wasn't nervous because all of her friends (the other girls in her class) were with her.
(This was how Gwen posed when I asked her to stand in first position... Umm, looks a little monkeyish to me.)
Gwen LOVED her costume (although she was intially concerned if "Jesus would mind" because it didn't have sleeves).
Now that the recital is over, Gwen wears her dance costume almost everyday.
