Gwen is Two Months Old!

Wednesday, May 21st marked two months in the life of our baby Gwen! Her last appointment with the pediatrician was two weeks ago at six weeks of age. The doctor said she is "growing beautifully", and we think she is also growing more beautiful! At six weeks she weighed 10 lbs 2 oz and measured 22 inches long. She seems to have grown a lot more in the last two weeks. She continues to be such a joy!

Here are a few things Gwen is up to these days:
-Gwen is getting so big! She doesn't fit into any of her newborn sized clothes anymore and is about done with the 0-3 month onesies. She's moved solidly into 3-6 month sizes.
-Gwen continues to sleep well at night. She gave mom a special Mother's Day treat by sleeping from 10:30pm to 5:30am!
-Gwen likes to eat. When she needs to take a burp break in the middle of a feed she gets upset because she just wants to eat more.
-Gwen sometimes likes to watch other children. We have some little neighbor girls who come over when we are out in the yard. Even when Gwen is cranky, she'll quiet down and watch the kids play.
-Gwen enjoys being outside. In the evenings we'll take a walk with Gwen in the baby carrier and she'll look all around.
-Gwen appreciates her dad because he has the magic touch when it comes to burping. She'll be upset because of a bubble in her tummy, but on dad's shoulder she quiets down and it comes up!
-Gwen's new love is a star that makes music and lights up. She gets so excited when she sees the star. She kicks, waves her arms, smiles, and coos!
-Just in the last few days Gwen has started looking consistently at toys or other things we show her. She will look at an object for a moment and then smile about it.
-Gwen makes the cutest noises. She coos and sometimes makes louder sounds. She also makes these throaty breathing sounds as part of her conversations.
-Gwen has baby chubbies! Her little thighs and upper arms are nice and squishy with some great chubby creases.

We can't believe how fast our sweet baby is growing!
